When we found out that our son was being bullied it was incredibly stressful. We knew he needed help right away to get the bullying to stop and turn the situation around because he had become a target and becoming a target is one of the worst things that can happen.
When a child becomes a target for bullies, all of the followers, the sheep in the herd, just follow the leader and start picking on your kid. And it’s very stressful.
We knew that we had to get it to stop ASAP, or the bullying would continue to escalate.
What we did is we started with verbal self defense. I was lucky because I own the largest verbal self defense website. We had tons of amazing things for adults to say when they were being picked on by friends and family.

Before the bullying situation with my son, it had never occured to me to create verbal self defense for kids before.
Stop your child being bullied with verbal self defense
But the truth is that the verbal self defense was the disrupter. It was the thing that really got things to stop. When my son used my system that I created for adults on kids, they were speechless.
Honestly, it felt so good when the bullies’ followers stopped saying mean things. And I mean it stopped within two days.
The kids knew that they couldn’t say anything to my son without him responding and making them look foolish.
This took some coaching, I had to teach him how to use verbal self defense, what to say and how to do it. Within a day he was trained up and ready to go back to school and shut down the bullies.
The next thing I focused on was certain traits that bullies target. I started figuring that out and what we need to work on to get my son to stop being a target.
Sometimes kids pick on other kids because they are jealous but usually there is more to it. If your child is being bullied, there probably are one or two things they need to stop doing that can make them a target.
